God has selected Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton to be the nominees of the 2 major political parties for President of the United States.
The truth is that whomever of these 2 is elected, there is nothing either one of them can do which will prevent you from honoring God and being a faithful servant to his Son. Our country is in clear need of the gospel. God has provided the best possible situation for the church to seize this opportunity for the kingdom and the glory of his great name!
This is not a time for despair or defeat. It is time for gratitude. God is reminding us that our hope lies not in princes or presidents. This is a time of joy and commitment to honor God even if our political wishes did not come true.
You can be despondent or fearful or angry at the political situation of country. But if you read Paul, who lived under oppressive, tyrannical leadership, who lived under persecution unlike anything we presently know, although that could change, you see nothing of the despair that many now feel. What you read is his commitment to his mission to honor God and speak of the wonder of Christ and his gospel. He did this with joy, enthusiasm, and gratitude.
Make no mistake, God has made his choice. We have work to do. God is not disturbed by candidates who think they are in control. Psalm 2 says he actually laughs at such stupidity. God will use these candidates to accomplish what he wants. He does not need their approval to bring about his will.
God has made his choice. Let us rejoice that you and I can choose to live for his kingdom and be involved in bringing about the change that our country so desperately needs.
15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.
